Pitt Lake is one of the few tidal freshwater lakes in North America. Water levels rise and fall with the Fraser River, which rules out most fixed-height lifts. We specify Sunstream FloatLift systems for nearly every Pitt Lake install, often paired with floating FLOE docks to keep the whole setup moving with the water. We also assist with foreshore lease documentation for cabin owners on the upper lake.

Located about 60 km northeast of Vancouver near Pitt Meadows, it stretches over 24 kilometres through rugged wilderness flanked by Golden Ears Provincial Park and Pinecone Burke Provincial Park. What makes Pitt Lake extraordinary — and what every property owner here needs to plan around — is that it's a tidal lake, with water levels rising and falling in response to the Fraser River. Tides can swing by over a metre, which means fixed-height docks and standard pile-mounted lifts simply don't work here.
